Pottstown Police Department Chief of Police Mark D. Flanders and Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. are pleased to announce the arrests of two (2) subjects (see below information regarding arrestees) after a search of their hotel room at the Day's Inn (1 High St.) last Wednesday (10/12/2005) evening.
Attempting to determine what room Justin Stewart had rented at the Day's Inn, officers from the Pottstown Police Department, members of the Montgomery County District Attorney's Drug Task Force, and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET), went to the Day's Inn. (Note: Stuart had been arrested a few minutes earlier - See PPD Press Release 10-17-05 - 3.) When they arrived, the officers observed individuals inside of room #233 who were in the process of packaging what appeared to be controlled substances.
Officers entered the room, taking JAMES SNOWDEN and KEITH LEE into custody. A search warrant was obtained for the hotel room. As a result of that search, officers seized approximately 1-3/4 ounces of suspected cocaine, approximately 1-1/4 ounces of suspected marihuana, more than $185 in U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia. Both SNOWDEN and LEE were charged with Drug Act violations.
