(For Immediate Release)
DRUG DEALERS ARRESTED AFTER SATURDAY MORNING RAID
Pottstown Police Department Chief of Police Mark Flanders and Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor, Jr. are pleased to announce the arrests of ROBERT AMIEN HUFF, Jr. and ERICA NICOLLE SWANSON (see below). Early Saturday (07/16) morning members of the ChesMont Emergency Response Team (CMERT) executed a search warrant at 563 West St., in the Borough of Pottstown. CMERT was utilized because of information received regarding the propensity for violence and the nature of the investigation. The search warrant was developed as a result of an ongoing investigation, conducted by members of the Pottstown Police Department and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force.
Located inside of the residence were HUFF, SWANSON, and HUFF's six year old daughter. Once CMERT secured the premises, Pottstown PD Detectives conducted a thorough search of the residence. Seized during the search were in excess of seventy-five (75) bags of suspected cocaine (packaged for street sales), more than ten (10) bags of marijuana (packaged for street sales), an excess of $1,500 in U.S. currency, and a loaded .45 Caliber ACP handgun. The handgun was recovered in a dresser located in Huff's six year old daughter's bedroom, clearly within her reach.
Chief Flanders noted that, "Coming on the heels of last week's raid that netted thirteen (13) Borough drug dealers, Saturday's arrests are the result of a continuing - wider reaching joint investigation between our officers and Mr. Castor's people." Flanders promised that, "As these investigations continue to unfold, there will be more arrests to come."
