PRESS RELEASE - Tuesday, January 24, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
On Friday January 20, 2006, from 8:00 pm until 3 am (Saturday the 21st), undercover officers from the Pottstown Police Department conducted a sting operation targeting prostitutes and their customers in and around the 300 block of King St. and in the area of York St. Between High and Beech Sts. As a result of this operation, Pottstown Police Chief Mark Flanders and Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. are pleased to announce the arrest of six subjects.
Chief Flanders indicates that, "This is another segment of our multi-faceted High-Visibility Joint Drug Interdiction Initiative, targeting drug related crimes and quality of life issues in the Borough." Chief Flanders also indicated that, "We will continue to relentlessly address these issues - there will be more undercover operations and arrests to come."

TERENA JOHNSON (Age 37) 262 King St. Pottstown, PA Charges: Prostitution, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia (In possession of suspected crack cocaine and a pipe at the time of arrest) Additionally Johnson was arrested for an outstanding Robbery Warrant: In June of 2005 Johnson forcefully took an MP3 player from another female in the 400 block of High St. Remanded to MCCF in Lieu of $10,000 (10%) Bail |
